YOU AND YOUR BIORHYTHMS

Biorhythms may have some influence or control over our physical responses to life with a cycle of 23 days duration, our emotional reactions with a 28 day cycle, a 33 day rhythm that governs our intellectual perception and a 38 day intuitional rhythm that affects the way we react to our sixth senses.

Each rhythm has three "critical" or "change" days. The first one is at the beginning; the second at the halfway stage when it changes from positive to negative phase; and the third one at the end of the cycle which, of course, is also the start of the next positive phase. In the physical cycle critical or change days are on days 1 and 12; in the emotional cycle, on days 1 and 15; intellectually, on days 1 and 17; and intuitionally, on days 1 and 19. It is best to allow at least 12/24 hours for the effect to come into being or until it has passed, like an approaching/departing or exact aspect in astrology.

Try to think of the effect you experience when waiting for a train in an underground system. As you wait on the platform all is calm and reasonably natural. Then you feel a gentle breeze which rapidly becomes a high wind as the train nears then roars in into the station affecting everything and everybody in sight. The doors close and the train departs the station and, eventually, all is quiet and normal again.

So it is with biorhythms.

Alternatively, one could compare this critical day effect to the moment when an electric light bulb is switched on or off. As light bulb suddenly becomes filled with power and energy it literally goes from a negative to a positive phase. When the light is switched off, power no longer flows through it and it goes from positive to negative. These are the most vulnerable times, the moment when this power is more liable to fail than at any other time because it may not always be able to cope with the sudden change of power, the energy or temperature change. During these change-over periods people tend to become more vulnerable we may become temporarily off-balance and our normal reactions are slowed down: we may also become accident prone.

When in the first or positive part of any of these cycles you will feel much more alert, emotionally responsive and perceptive. In the second half, or negative phase of a rhythm, you will be less responsive, less alert, less perceptive. On a critical day, when the cycle changes you are liable to be error prone.

Judgment can be faulty or unreliable and accidents can happen. You should defer actions especially important matters for you feel less co-operative and inclined to make poor decisions. If possible, avoid physically overdoing tasks; try not to let small issues get you down. If possible, defer important decisions where you can.

THE PHYSICAL CYCLE

The first stage of this cycle allows you to participate fully in almost any kind of physical activity without worry, you feel good and on top of the world. Nothing is too much of an effort. In the second stage, ease back. There seems to be less enthusiasm for anything physical. It can be difficult to keep up. On a critical day try to avoid unnecessary exercise or activity - you may well be physically accident prone.

In the middle of the first phase, on day 7, is a "mini"-critical day when the cycle peaks. At this point you should be at your best in the physical sense and quite able to cope with everything that comes your way.

After this peak, the cycle moves into a downhill trend that troughs on the second mini-critical point on day 17, the nadir of the negative phase. At this time you should conserve energy, and take things steadily, one thing at a time.

THE SENSITIVITY CYCLE

This is concerned mainly with mood and social ability. When you are in the first part of the cycle you are cheerful, co-operative and optimistic. You seem to shine socially and inclined to be more creative in your overall outlook. In the negative stage you may be moody, touchy and uncooperative. You tense up, are irritable and feel low. On a critical day you often become ultra sensitive, easily stressed and accidents may happen as a result.

In the middle of the emotional cycle's first phase, on day 8, is the "mini"-critical day when the cycle peaks. Here you should be at your best in the emotional sense so you should be at your most amenable and at your best socially.

After this peak, the cycle now moves into a downhill trend that troughs on the second mini-critical point on day 22, the nadir of the negative phase. When this occurs, you become ultra-sensitive, rather low and not very social minded. You are probably much better off on your own.

THE INTELLECTUAL CYCLE

In the plus phase your logic and reasoning powers are at their best. You are perceptive, ideas and responses flow fluidly. Problems are easily resolved, concentration is easy and study periods go very well.

In the negative stage perception and understanding levels drop noticeably, memory can be faulty. On a critical day intelligence becomes muddled, silly mistakes are made and accidents can happen through poor judgment.

In the middle of the intellectual cycle's first phase, on day 9, is the "mini"-critical day when the cycle peaks. You will be at your peak intellectually. Your perception rate is at its best when the mind responds instantly with very little escaping you.

After the peak, this cycle also moves into a downhill trend to trough on its second mini-critical point on day 26, the nadir of the negative phase. When this occurs, the brain is sluggish; you can have difficulty in comprehending what is expected of you. It would be better to defer important decisions until a much more propitious time.

THE INTUITIONAL CYCLE

When in the first or positive part of this cycle you are much more aware of your abilities to “read” people or you seem to “know” how events may shape. Hunches work, you are more perceptive or aware of the real intention of the way other people are trying to relate. In the first half of this cycle the “mini-critical” day is on day 9 when the cycle peaks. Little passes you by as you somehow manage to circumvent all the facts as others may see them and get to the crux of the matter without too much effort because your innate sixth sense is at its height. In the second half, or negative phase of the rhythm, this ability is lessened, your innate feelings for such things are blunted and you are less perceptive, unsure of what to do or which way you should turn for the best. On a critical day as the cycle changes from one level to another your inherent natural judgment is faulty or unreliable so it would be best to disregard hunches. You might be error prone, accidents may happen and you should put off important decisions if at all possible. When the intuitional cycle is at its lowest point on day 29 it is better for you not to rely on anything but the facts as you see them. Follow any hunches at your peril.
