There’s something about mid-April that just feels… nicer isn’t there? The days are a bit longer, the sun has been making a pretty occasional appearance (this is EnglandQ after all) and everything feels like it’s waking up again. And during the week of 16-23 April 2026 the skies aren’t just quietly minding their business - they’re actually quite busy behind the scenes.
Let’s start with what’s actually going on up there, because it’s a bit of a cosmic cocktail.
Right around the 16th you’ve got the Sun sitting in Aries cosy with Chiron - a point linked to old wounds and healing (Astrolis). So straight away there’s this theme of “sort yourself out, but gently”. At the same time Mercury is bumping into both Saturn and Mars in Aries (Astrolis), which basically means your thoughts might feel more intense than usual - a bit sharper, a bit more serious, and occasionally a bit “why did I just overthink that at 2am?”
Then things get interesting. Mars is hanging out with Neptune all week (Astrolis), which is a slightly dreamy, slightly confusing energy. Great for creativity, not always ideal for making clear-cut decisions. You might feel really inspired one minute and then unsure the next - completely normal for this particular mix.
By the 19th and 20th there’s a bit of cosmic pressure building - Mars meets Saturn and Mercury joins in too (CHANI). That’s the universe gently (or not so gently) saying “right, time to get serious about something.” It’s less about rushing and more about committing - deciding what’s actually worth your time and energy.
And while all of that is going on astrologically, there’s something quite lovely happening in the actual night sky too - the Lyrid meteor shower is active all week and peaks around the 22nd, with little streaks of light cutting across the sky if you’re lucky enough to catch them (Space). Bit magical really.
So what does all that mean on a human level?
Honestly - it’s a bit of a mixed bag, but in a good way.
This week has a strong “get your life together, but don’t be harsh about it” vibe. The Sun and Chiron combo is like accidentally stumbling across an old version of yourself and realising you’ve actually grown quite a lot. You might have a few moments where you think “oh… I still care about that” - but instead of spiralling, there’s a chance to handle it differently this time.
Mentally things could feel busy. Mercury tangled up with Saturn and Mars means your brain might not switch off easily. You could find yourself analysing everything - texts, conversations, life choices from 2009. But there’s a hidden gift here: clarity. If something’s been confusing lately this is the week where it starts to make sense.
The Mars and Neptune energy adds a softer edge though - so it’s not all serious life admin. There’s a dreamy, creative undercurrent running through everything. You might feel more drawn to music, writing, daydreaming, or just staring out the window thinking about life. Lean into that. It’s not wasted time.
Then comes that midweek shift where things feel a bit more… real. You might suddenly want to organise your life, set boundaries, or actually follow through on something you’ve been putting off. It’s not glamorous but it’s important.
And the meteor shower? It’s a nice reminder that not everything has to be so deep. Sometimes you just need to look up, catch a shooting star, and remember that the universe is quite big and you’re allowed to chill out a bit.
If there’s one takeaway from this week it’s this - you’re allowed to be a work in progress and still moving forward.
So make a cup of tea, get some fresh air if you can and don’t panic if your thoughts get a bit intense or your emotions feel closer to the surface. That’s kind of the point of this particular stretch of sky.
You’re not going backwards. You’re just becoming a slightly more aware version of yourself.
